gates
The gates are where the excitement begins and there’s always something happening! Volunteers at the Main and North Gates for the Nebraska State Fair help welcome guests with a smile and make sure anyone heading out gets their hand stamped so they can jump back into the fun later.

At the Nebraska State Fair, we have ten Information Centers ready to help guests make the most of their visit! Volunteers at each location are equipped with an iPad, radio, and a handy guide of common questions and answers so they can confidently assist fairgoers and create the best possible experience.
State Fair Marathon
Help make race day amazing at the Nebraska State Fair Marathon! Volunteers keep the excitement (and runners!) moving in the right direction by guiding participants at turns and helping keep intersections safe and traffic-free. You can also jump in at water stations, assist with packet pick-up, and help hand out awards at the finish line. Join on your own or sign up with a group for even more fun!
Agriculture
Agriculture is HUGE for Nebraska as well as the State Fair! On grounds, volunteers have the opportunity to assist with animal related areas from greeting at the barns to assisting with the Draft Horse Pull.

Do you love hobbies and creativity? Then Competitive Exhibits at the Nebraska State Fair is the place for you! From growing and baking to crafting and making, there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy.
people movers
At the Nebraska State Fair, we offer our guests rides to and from the fair as well as throughout the grounds. Volunteers help by interacting with fair guests and sharing information using the speaker system!
First Aid station
Safety comes first at the Nebraska State Fair! Do you have a medical background? Volunteer at one of our two First Aid Stations and help provide care and peace of mind to fair guests throughout the event.
raising Nebraska
Raising Nebraska is an interactive experience like no other! From science and innovation to community and culture, Nebraska’s agricultural experience touch everyone. Volunteers help in a wide variety of areas including hosting the floor map, working the virtual combine and ushering the annual 4-H Fashion Show.

A lot happens that our guests at the Fair aren’t aware of and a few of these tasks are done by a yellow shirt volunteer!
