River City Shakers

Biography
The River City Shakers are a country dance group formed to put smiles on people’s faces through dance. The group was formed in 2013 as a nonprofit organization. Line, Couple and Circle Dances are practiced and taught weekly. They dance every Tuesday evening at Bogies West in Omaha and provide FREE lessons there from 6:00-8:00. The evening starts with beginners at 6:00, all levels at 7:00 and open dancing in between sets and afterwards.
They do demo’s at Senior Centers, Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Centers for a good will donation. They are also available for other events as requested to teach or to do a demo.
All kinds of music are used with emphasis on Country. Their members range in age 16 – 95. It is fun for everyone! They try to get together monthly on the weekends for dancing fun at other venues and especially like the outdoor events at Surfside Club, Cottonwood Cove and Stinson Park during the summer. Their favorite event is, of course, the Nebraska State Fair!
