Serving through the mission
The Nebraska State Fair recently distributed 179 broiler chickens to area non-profits, an act of service that their team began back in 2018.
These birds were exhibited by youth at the Aksarben Stock Show. Following the event, the Nebraska State Fair (who coordinates the Stock Show) paid to have the animals butchered and then donated them to 12 different Heartland United Way non-profits!
This tradition, of donating the Aksarben broilers, is one their team feels strongly about. Marketing Director, Courtney Glock, says their team loves having the opportunity to impact the lives of those in our area, especially those battling food security.
