We would like to invite your K-6th grade students to attend Nebraska’s Largest Classroom at the Nebraska State Fair! Nebraska’s Largest Classroom is a special educational event which operates as a self-guided tour of the Fair. Almost 3,000 students, teachers, and sponsors participated in the event in 2022!
Nebraska’s Largest Classroom will be offered on Friday, August 25, Tuesday, August 29, and Wednesday, August 30. Admission is FREE for K-6th grade students. Nebraska State Fair will provide complimentary gate admission to a maximum of a 1 to 5, teacher/sponsor to student ratio. Additional sponsors beyond the 1 to 5 ratio will be required to purchase gate admission tickets. If your school has special needs, please contact our office. The free admission is only good for gate entry before 1:00 p.m. Check in will be from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Nebraska State Fair offers an optional lunch program for Nebraska’s Largest Classroom participants. Lunch will be available from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Each lunch costs $2; lunch will consist of a hot dog, a bag of chips, a dessert, a fruit, and a bottle of water or something very similar. There is a limit of one lunch per person. Enclosed is the lunch registration form. Please note that advance registration for the lunch program is mandatory. Lunch registrations will not be accepted the day of Nebraska’s Largest Classroom. Lunch registration and payment must be received by June 15, 2023. There will be no exceptions to the deadline and no refunds once payment is received.
If you have special dietary needs, wish to not participate in the lunch program, or have older children and feel the lunch items won’t be adequate for their growing stomachs; we invite you to bring your own lunch, or eat at one of the food vendors on the fairgrounds.
More information will be provided mid-summer, so it is important that you provide us with a contact person and his or her summer contact information. Largest Classroom materials, including gate passes, parking permits, field trip guide and wristbands, will be sent the first week in August to your school. If you find your classroom has grown over the summer and you need additional tickets for your students, contact our office prior to Monday, August 1. After this date, gate passes will not be sent out in the mail, but will instead be waiting for you at the check-in area.
