Perform at the Nebraska State Fair!

Thank you for your interest in performing at the 2022 Nebraska State Fair (NSF). The dates of the 2022 Nebraska State Fair are Friday, August 26 - Monday, Labor Day, September 5. The following material contains information about the application process for the largest entertainment event in the state!

Every submission must include the following FOUR items to be considered as a performer:

  1. Entertainment Application: The completed application provides essential information about the entertainment act and its members. Do not leave any information on the application blank. Incomplete applications will result in disqualification from the selection process. It is your responsibility to provide accurate and complete information. Please notify us immediately if any information on your application changes.  Please let us know if you would like us to release your contact information in the case of an inquiry about your act. Occasionally, we receive inquiries from the media or from parties interested in booking a performance.  By checking the box under your contact information, you will grant the NSF the permission to pass along your contact information in such a case.  Please note:  The NSF will use its best discretion in releasing your contact information.  In the case of a questionable inquiry, the NSF will contact you prior to releasing your information.
  2. Performance References: On the Entertainment Application, please include two performance references.  Do not list the NSF as a reference, as we have our entertainment history on file.
  3. Audio or Video Audition: All applications must include a demo of their performance with their application for NSF files. Due to an overwhelming about of old demos, all acts will be required to submit a demo in 2022 regardless of when a previous demo was last submitted.  CD's electronic music files, and YouTube links are accepted.  Audition material will not be returned.  Because we respect the livelihood of performing artists, it is NOT a requirement to submit a full, professionally produced studio album.  A CD/DVD/MP3 or YouTube link with 1-3 songs or videos is sufficient.
  4. Entertainment Application Terms and Conditions:  All act are required to return a signed copy of the Entertainment Application Terms and Conditions.

Other Information

  • The sale of merchandise is permitted. The NSF requires 20% if sales are in excess of $500 of all merchandise sales on the Fairgrounds, including that of performing artists. 2022 performers will receive a Merchandise Agreement, outlining the NSF’s Merchandise Sales policy.
  • All acts must be family and fair friendly.
  • The NSF does not provide travel, hotel, food, alcohol or other rider amenities.
  • The NSF will provide adequate gate admission passes for performers. Passes are for performers only. Passes will not be provided to crew members, sound technicians, merchandise sellers, managers, friends, family, or any other individuals outside of the immediate performers of the act.
  • All parking on the grounds is free. Convenient parking is not guaranteed.

Additional promotional material may be sent with your application.  However, no other material is required for consideration.  Final acceptance of all entries is at the discretion of the Nebraska State Fair and may take through the end of June 2022.  Regret letters will not be sent.  You will be contacted only if you are selected to perform at the 2022 Nebraska State Fair.

Perform the National Anthem at one of the many events during the State Fair, including the Opening Ceremony, antique tractor events, motorsports events, livestock events, and more! The opportunity is for experience and exposure only. Performance compensation will not be extended. *Please do not plan on the availability of dressing rooms. Dressing rooms (campers) are only available at two stages. They are small and communal. It is the responsibility of the act to plan their costume needs accordingly.

By agreeing to the Entertainment Application terms and conditions, I hereby certify that I have read and agree to the information below. The person executing this Agreement on Act’s behalf warrants his/her authority to do so and is of legal age.
  • Final selection of all entertainment is at the discretion of the Nebraska State Fair (NSF).
  • This is only an application for an opportunity to perform. Submission of this application does not guarantee the Act will be selected to perform at the 2019 Nebraska State Fair, nor does it constitute any agreement to provide space, services or compensation.
  • The parties agree that the Act, and any agents and employees of the Act, are acting in an independent capacity and not as officers, employees, or agents of the Nebraska State Fair.
  • Act hereby waives all claims and recourse against the Nebraska State Fair Board, Fonner Park Exposition and Events Center, The Hall County Livestock Improvement Association, and the City of Grand Island, including the right to contribution for loss or damage to persons or property in any way connected to this Application and any subsequent Agreement, and shall indemnify and hold harmless the Nebraska State Fair Board, Fonner Park Exposition and Events Center, The Hall County Livestock Improvement Association, and the City of Grand Island from all claims due to any acts or omissions.
  • Act shall indemnify and hold harmless the Nebraska State Fair Board, Fonner Park Exposition and Events Center, The Hall County Livestock Improvement Association, and the City of Grand Island, its officers, agents and employees from any and all claims, suits or actions of every name, kind and description brought forth from, or on account of, injuries to or death of any person including, but not limited to, workers and the public, or damage to property resulting from the performance at the Nebraska State Fair.
  • The Nebraska State Fair takes place rain or shine. Most performance locations are either indoors or covered. In the case of adverse weather, payment will only be made if artist is on-site, at the place of performance, and willing and able to perform.
  • Act is expected to dress appropriately for a family atmosphere.
  • Act is expected to conduct him/her/themselves in a fashion suitable for family oriented fun.
  • By agreeing to perform at the Nebraska State Fair, you hereby consent to the reproduction and use of your photograph, image, voice or a reproduction thereof, either in whole or in part for any and all advertising, promotion and publicity purposes without limitation or reservation, and without any right to compensation for that reproduction/use.
