Attendance for the weekend totaled 103,073, an 18.92 percent increase over the 2008 opening weekend.
08.26.2009	New Midway at Nebraska State Fair Offers Bigger Thrills For All Ages Starting Friday, August 28, screams, cheers, and laughter will echo through State Fair Park from the new midway at the 140^th edition of the Nebraska State Fair. The new midway, provided by Belle City Amusements, Inc., will include traditional rides, such as the Scrambler and Carousel, and will also offer some new, bigger thrills.

The celebration begins at the Opening Ceremony on Friday, August 28, at 6:00p.m. in the intersection of the main streets.
