Miss Nebraska State Fair & Miss Heartland Pageant

Welcome to the Miss Nebraska State Fair and Miss Heartland Pageant website! The pageant is a local, official preliminary for The Miss Nebraska Scholarship Pageant and the Miss America Pageant. Two crowns will be awarded and both are open to all eligible contestants. The crowned title holders will advance to the Miss Nebraska Scholarship Pageant held in North Platte, NE, in June 2012. The winner of the Miss Nebraska Scholarship Pageant then advances to the Miss America Pageant.
The pageant includes the following area of competition: Interview, On-stage Question, Evening Wear, Lifestyle and Fitness in Swimsuit, and Talent. In addition, contestants are required to select a platform to promote throughout their participation in the pageant.

Eligibility Requirements

- - Must be at least seventeen years of age at the time of her first competition and no older than twenty-four
- year of age on December 31st of the year she is chosen to represent her state in the National Finals.
- - Be at least a senior in high school.
- - Be a United States Citizen.
- - Meet residency requirements for competing in a certain town & state.
- - Complete and sign the contract (available from your local director).
- - Complete the Resume and Platform statement according to the instructions as set forth by the
- Miss America Organization.
- - Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements.
- - Be able to meet the time commitment & job responsibilities as set forth by the local program in which
- you compete.
Competition Areas & Scoring
Talent = 35%
Private Interview = 25%
Lifestyle & Fitness in a Swimsuit = 15%
Evening Wear = 20%
On-Stage Questions = 5%

Children's Miracle Network
The Miss America Organization has partnered with Children's Miracle Network to form a National Platform. Each contestant is required to raise $100 for each local pageant in which she participates. Please contact Chelsey Jungck at 308.382.1710 or cjungck@statefair.org for more information.
