State Fair Campgrounds at Fonner Park

Reserve your space now! The Fair is adding 225 new camping locations to the north side of the property along Fonner Park Road. The Campground area is fenced with a permanent fence, and a Campground Manager is on duty at all times. All campers are required to stop at the Campground office, pay the camping charges in advance, and receive a lot location assignment.

We appreciate your cooperation with the following campground rules and regulations. All rules and regulations must be strictly adhered to; if not, violators will be asked to vacate the campground immediately.

Campground Rates For August 27 – September 6,2010

  • $ 23 per night: Campers & Trailers (full hook-up - all services and pad parking)
  • $ 20 per night: Electric and water service only
  • $ 17 per night: No services (tent space or self-contained)
  • $ 3 per night: Extra vehicles (without trailers/campers)
  • $ 1 per night: Each additional person over 12 years of age (2 persons included with one night camping fee)
 

All campers must leave the camping area by 3:00 p.m., or they will be charged an additional day at the regular daily rate.

 

General Information

  • Free Bus Service will be available to and from the Campground. The bus will begin the route at 7:30 a.m. each day and will run every ½-hour until 10:00 p.m. The only boarding place for returning to the Campground is at the east side of the 4H/FFA exhibit building located on the north side of the fairgrounds.
  • State Fair gate admission

The Campgrounds is on the Fairgrounds property, but is outside of the Event fencing and thus does not require State Fair gate admission to enter the campgrounds. State Fair Admission tickets will be required of all exhibitor, vendors, concessionaires, and general public at all entrance gates. Be sure you have your entry ticket or daily re-entryhand stamp ready as you approach the ticket gates.

Gate admission tickets to State Fairgrounds must be purchased each day at the Exhibitor Gate where the bus drops its passengers.

Gate admission to Fonner Park for adults is $8.00; children ages 6-12 - $2.00; children 5 and under are free on Friday, August 27 - Sunday, August 29.

Gate admission is $2 for adults and children (agest 6-12); children 5 and under are free on Monday, August 30, Tuesday, August 31, and Wednesday, September 1. One daily gate admission ticket is required for each day of the fair.

  • Automobile permits

Upon payment of camping charges, a campground sticker will be furnished for one vehicle per lot. All vehicles without a sticker will be required to pay $3 per night for camping.

  • No refunds.
  • No vehicle parking on campground streets. No repairing/overhauling of vehicles.
  • No open fires.
  • No fireworks.
  • No alcohol outside of trailers.
  • No trailer or car washing allowed.
  • Campground water pressure is 100 PSI.
  •  Dumping Fee - a fee of $5.00 will be charged to persons who have not paid to camp at the Nebraska State Fair Park Campground. Campers who are staying on the grounds will NOT be charged a fee to dump.
  • Dogs and cats are allowed in the campground. Dogs and cats must be on leashes when outside of trailers. No dogs and cats allowed near or in the bath house. PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR PETS.
  • TV Stations are CBS-11, NBC-5, ABC-8 & 13, and FOX-4.

Severe Weather Warning Flags

A flag will be raised daily at the Campground Office. A RED FLAG indicates that severe weather is approaching and may soon be upon us. A YELLOW FLAG indicates that some caution should be taken, as severe weather may be in the forecast. A GREEN FLAG indicates mild weather.

 

Evacuation/Emergency Plan For Campgrounds

In case of storm warnings, shelter can be found in the bath house. When there is a threat of severe weather, State Fair Park Campground personnel and/or security will direct you either to the Grandstand or an alternative shelter.
