Cavallo Equestrian Arts
August 22 through September 1, 2008 – Located in Kidz Zone
The Cavallo Equestrian Arts show was an enchanting extravaganza celebrating the age old fellowship of man and horse. An unrivaled cast of artists from around the world attempt death defying stunts and display dexterous feats. The show is a fully choreographed, theatrical experience that kept everyone on the edge of their seats.
Pirates of the Caribbean
August 22 through September 1, 2008 – Located in Kidz Zone
World class diving mixed with comedy, music and breathtaking thrills.
Extreme Canines Stunt Dog Show 
August 22 through September 1, 2008 – Located in Kidz Zone
Guests saw the nation’s best Frisbee catching dogs perform one-of-a-kind tricks and big air stunts, and a few lucky kids transformed into dogs and even performed with one of the Extreme Canines during the show.
Hedrick’s Racing Pigs & Animal Petting Zoo
August 22 through September 1, 2008 – Located in Kidz Zone
Children of all ages got to pet and feed exotic animals. Plus, they were able to have a camel & pony rides.
Family Fun Tent
August 22 through September 1, 2008 – Located in Kidz Zone
Presented by Verizon Wireless, great games, creative crafts, amazing prizes and fun for the entire family, the  Nebraska State Fair Family Fun Tent offers something for everyone in the Kidz Zone. Children of all ages and their families are invited to participate in numerous FREE Family Fun games, contests, and crafts. The Kidz Zone times were 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm Monday through Friday and 1:30 pm to 8:30 pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day. Games included Water balloon Toss, Dress-Up Relay, Jelly Bean Guess , Finger Painting Make-N-Takes, Limbo, Wizard Simon Says, Superball Saturday, Putt Putt Challenge, Sponge Run, Tug of War, Ice Cream Eating Contest, Cookie Decorating, Backyard Bowling, Frog Jumping Fun, Maraca Making, Bean Bag Target Toss, Jell-O Eating Contest, Cow and Pig Make-N-Takes, Sidewalk Chalk Art Decorating , Bubble Blowing Blast Off, Edible Jewelry Make-N-Take, Bingo, Pie Eating Contest, Finger Painting Make-N-Takes, Corn Shucking Contest, and Watermelon Eating Contest.
New Moms Nursing Lounge
August 22 through September 1, 2008 – Located in Kidz Zone
Presented St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center, the Advanced Baby Center is pleased to provide The New Moms' Nursing Lounge. Located in the Kidz Zone, The New Moms Nursing Lounge offers a private, climate controlled area for nursing moms and their babies. The Lounge will be staffed by hospital professionals. Educational information will also be available.
Livestock Birthing Pavilion
August 22 through September 1, 2008 – Located in Kidz Zone
The Livestock Birthing Pavilion was a large-animal birthing area, a farrowing area and a poultry hatching area giving State Fair guests the opportunity to witness live animal births, overseen by trained professionals from the University of Nebraska Pre-Vet Medicine Program.
Playground
August 22 through September 1, 2008 – Located in Kidz Zone
There are two playground equipment located on the fairgrounds. One playground can be found by the Grandstand while the other playground is located in the Kidz Zone.
